An independent, free service for people waiting on a tax refund. Not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency.
What it does
It reads the codes on an IRS account transcript, explains them, and forecasts the refund date from the timelines of people in the same situation who chose to share theirs anonymously. Around that sit the tools people need while they wait: state refund trackers, IRS phone hours and wait times, paycheck, refund, W-4, payment plan and penalty calculators.
Where the facts come from
IRS publications and manuals (Document 6209, the Internal Revenue Manual, Publication 15-T, Revenue Procedures, newsroom statistics), the IRS's open-source Tax Withholding Estimator rules, the National Taxpayer Advocate's reports, and each state's own revenue department. Every page lists its sources.
How it is paid for
By display advertising on reference and calculator pages. No ads appear on pages that show your own transcript or tax answers, and nothing you enter is sold or shared.
